Today we went for a Sunday ride especially to take photos of fall colors. The fall colors were not so great, I guess they have not peaked yet. There were lots of golds but I like it when there are reds mixed in with the golds and greens of the firs. So when we saw this Sharp-Shinned Hawk settle on the top of a light standard in a parking lot, I grabbed this great new lens and shot this photo. I was so amazed when I saw how good it was. He was so far up that I couldn't believe I could get such a great shot of him. Of course, it was cropped to bring him in closer.
