Lensbaby but Different

Today I inserted the f5.6 ring in place of the f4 ring. Up until now I have been practicing focusing without bending the lens. So today I took some unbent shots and then tried some bent ones. This bending thing is a whole new ballgame. Practice, practice, practice!

The idea of the Lensbaby is to select the part of the image you want to be in focus and bend the lens so that will happen. You want sharp focus at the point of interest and a smeary effect in the rest of the image.

More Lensbaby

I will probably bore you a while longer while teaching myself to use this lens.
The sooner I learn to use it well the sooner I can move on to other lenses.

Lensbaby Rose

The Lensbaby Composer is a manual focus selective focus lens. You simply tilt the lens to a desired angle and then focus with a manual focusing ring.

I have had it quite a while but really haven't experimented much. This week I am taking photos only with this lens so that I might understand how to use it.

This is the first photo that was even near what I was trying to capture.

This type of photo doesn't appeal to everyone so don't be surprised if you don't like it.

Weed and Old Wood

This is the same location as the previous photo. I liked the grain of the wood and the perspective and contrast of the weed.

Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.
